we do what we need to be free, and it leans on me, like a rootless tree
Well, I've had this project in mind for a while, and only now have had the time to do it. The holidays are at least good for getting time off work, if nothing else. Anyhow, bear with me. I'm unsure how to go about labelling this--there's a little bit of (very poor) writing, some story, and a lot of graphic stuff.

Author: [info]abbycadabra
Title: Home, Sweet Home
Medium: Photoshop 7.0
Pairing: Harry/Draco
Rating: Pitifully PG
Summary: Home is what we make of it.
Disclaimer: The characters in the Potterverse were created by JK Rowling. No infringement is intended, no profit is made. Furthermore, Boyd Holbrook and James Franco have no affiliation with this whatsoever. They are simply the pretty faces I put to JK's characters.
Note/Explanation of What the Hell This Is: (1) A magazine spread featuring our favorite boys, Harry and Draco. It's in a magazine layout style, so hopefully everyone has their computer set to 1024, because that's what I made it in. The rest should explain itself. There is manips, graphic art, and interview!fic.
(2) Read the writing, yes, but please do not think too much on it. I discovered that writing for a very limited space, well, limits you. And it sucks.
Credit: The manips may be taken and used for whatever, so long as I am given credit for them. Oh, and asking permission is so very, very nice. We don't want to be not nice, do we?

The idea to use James Franco as Harry came from [info]scoradh's header for her fic, Interview with the Hero. Which is an utterly fabulous and I-couldn't-stop-reading-it fic that I definitely recommend to anyone who wants to dig their claws into a juicy novel. :)

Cool. It looks real great and reads well, too.

I do have two nitpicks, though. On Page "72", you have typo: "I wasn't, you know with anytbody"

And on the same page, you have written colour without the "u", but it's supposed to be British English, right?

Tiny things. Overall I loved it.

The hardest part was... well, actually, it all took equal amounts of time. The manips were probably the most tedious--but the writing. That was just frustrating. Anyhow. Thank you for the comment! :)

This is fantastic. I love it.

In the first pic, the room is sparse and it seems sad; post-war; a little desolate, but the interview is so {shudder to say} uplifting.
I like that you talk about his father and they don't agree and how long they were official versus together, and it makes me wonder what happened during those five years that was different and what night/day it became offical and how.

I'm more interesting in figuring that out than in the purple potion tid-bit, maybe because there are so many fics with potions that I can imagine how the potion went.

To 'quell the naysayers.' The language you use, with the interruptions and pauses reads so much like an interview. And their responses give this idea of a expansive world that they're living in, while the audiences is being given glimpses.

I love the fourth pic- the individuals. Harry's is simple, very pedestrian; he's placed against the {what do you call those..my english is...} little roll of images like you would get out of a photo booth- which is something he would do, the way his persona is represented- down to earth, normal guy. While Draco's is Italian model all the way. Very much in the spot light, look at me, not giving a smile or (not quite the word) retreating against a wall like Harry.

My favourite is the Day & Night because *guh* So perfect.
Draco in white against the ball and Harry in greys against the white- they're equal, balanced but completely distinct. Harry's such an 'ordinary bloke.'

Cup of teeth, the curling hair (so cute), the glasses- he reminds me of a newbie reporter in a newsroom. But he's still intense and looking right at you, and {to read it in Potterverse style} he can connect with everyone with that direct gaze. It seems like you get what you see, and what you see is cute.

Draco is in two tones, and shadowed, very model, very stylish, naked-kinda but wears the pose like a cover.

Love the credits- Lavender Brown and Colin Creevey. Like how you format it- text and photos, and I like all the pics. And interview fics are so much fun; to write and to read, and this is well-done.

*One correction: Needless to say, things worked out marvelously, {{regardless}} of foundation. It doesn't have the 'd'.

Wow, I love it! (Even though I'm not really an H/D fan as you can tell from my icon!) The style of this is so nice to look at; it really looks like a well-done magazine article. The black and white photos are brilliant. And I never thought of using James Franco for Harry before, but I think I might start!

Great job! :)

It wasn't my original idea to use Franco, though I think he fits wonderfully with that hair of his. I saw a header for [info]scoradh's fic, Interview with a Hero, in which she used him as her Harry and the utter perfection of it hit me full force. Which reminds me, I forgot to mention that tidbit in the credits...

Anyhow, thank you so much for the feedback! I'm glad you were able to enjoy it, even if it isn't your cuppa tea. ;)

Anyway, I'm sorry to have babbled on! I'm glad that you liked Franco as Harry, I think he fits the role perfectly, too. That hair! Those chiseled features! *swoon*
